Best Dog Ever?

Ren has been pretty close to perfect so far, I almost feel like he's too awesome... (knock on wood.) He has had no accidents in the house, he's calm and well mannered, he's sweet and loving, we couldn't have picked a better pup. C has been bonding well with him too, although he feels its hard to go anywhere in public with Ren, because we get mobbed by people wanting to pet and cuddle Ren. Anyways I need to take him in for a check up and get his next shots... :( Also I need to get him in a puppy class soon! Ren will be a show dog so we will be taking him to handling classes in the future as well. Speaking of show dog, we are still trying to decide his full name for his pedigree... Which is harder then is sounds.

Home at last! (Or best birthday present ever)

Ren came home with us tonight! C and I are very happy and excited. Seuss the cat is not too sure about why we brought home this adorable little monster. Ren cried for about 5 minutes of leaving the breeder's house and has been sweet and loving since. He's settling in well and currently keeps walking over the laptop as I type this. He is all that we wanted and then some! We can't wait to show him the world! <3

Countdown continues....

We pick up our little angel on the 27th of this month. We are literally dying of anticipation, I will go visit for my 3rd visit on the 13th, just to see them once more before they come home. We don't know if we are getting a boy or a girl yet, but we may be doing a co-ownership with the breeder, and may possibly be showing our dog! Very exciting! Anyways, without further ado; pictures!

First Encounter.

So this post is a bit over due, C and I visited the puppies a little over one week ago. It was super fun we got to cuddle the shiba blobs- uh, I mean puppies. They are just starting to be mobile and had just opened their eyes. Its funny to see puppies before they are super playful. Anyways I got so distracted by cuteness that I didn't any pictures! Sorry! Luckily the breeder sent me some this week.

Happy Birthday.

Puppy's birthday was yesterday. Mama seems to be taking great care of the puppies. We will make our first trip out there later this month, when the puppies open their eyes.

BABIES!!!!!

The PUPPIES were born late this afternoon!!! Four puppies in total, two of each. They are healthy and momma looks like she is doing well!

Any Day Now...?

The puppies were due last Sunday, but the breeder said that the momma looked closer to Thursday, and now its Friday. So any minute it could happen! The breeder has a UStream  account and she has a live video feed of the puppy area, so I have been excessively checking the site (http://www.ustream.tv/channel/bridge-engineering), to see if there is any progress.

Anyways, I've been busy recently so at least I can't spend every second on puppy countdown. (Which is fortunate or I would go crazy!) I've been taking some extra classes to change up my career a bit, so it seems like I am fated for a lot of change in the next few months.

Preparing.

As the puppies due date approaches, we've started to assemble all that we need for our new baby. Between gathering supplies, finding a vet, and mentally preparing, it all feels very much like before my son K2 born! Puppies and babies aren't so different it seems. K2 is very excited, I think he is mostly thrilled at the prospect of a playmate, after all there is only so much Seuss can handle.

Puppy's mom is supposed to be due tomorrow, but the breeder is saying that it will most likely be next Thursday. The anticipation is killing us over here! I am very excited to know how many puppies and what sex they will be. We still haven't decided which sex we prefer, so we'll just have to meet the little buggers. I feel a girl would be best to even the score a bit, since there is three boys and one girl here. C is leaning towards a boy though, especially after he saw the puppy's father. (Who is quite the handsome devil!)

Prego.

This has been a bit of a journey. I spent several years wishing for a dog, waiting until I was in a situation where I could have the space/schedule to have one. Then I spent a while longer trying to decide on the perfect breed, being a "cat person," Shiba Inu really stood out to me. The fact that we share a Japanese heritage, sealed the deal. After a few months of emailing breeders, and more importantly, convincing C, that he did in fact, really want a dog. We found our breeder and began the count-down to puppy-day!

Puppy-to-be's mama is pregnant as I type, and we recently found out that she is due the 5th of May. I can barely contain myself, I'm so stoked!

Beginnings.

This being the first post, a quick introduction is in order. I'm K, I live in the greater Sacramento area and my family currently consists of C (adoring bf), K2 (adorable son), and Seuss (atrocious cat).  This blog was created to record our adventures with our new fur-baby!
